Tonight’s surprise performer:

Wavelength A’ Capella

Day 12 of CLAC didn’t disappoint as “Wavelength A Cappella” lifted spirits at The Captains Club as they opened up the evening with a lovely arrangement of The First Noel.

After the first song Stewart Day, MC for the evening introduced Anita Weldon from  The Listening Ear” our charity for this evening who told us a little about the charity and thanked us for including them as one of the 24.  Anita then handed us over to Wavelength A Capella’s musical director Dyrck Lamble who led the group through a wonderful medley of songs, with beautiful arrangements and harmonies from traditional carols, to Christmas songs to modern classics such as Halleluiah and Titanium.   Meanwhile The Listening Ear worked the room encouraging us to buy raffle tickets for some great prizes.

After their final song a Hawaiian Christmas Song “Mele Kalikimaka”,  Stewart invited Tonia Cole from “B Cole & Sons Funfair” our main sponsor for the evening to come up and present a cheque for £500 to Anita on behalf of the Listening Ear.

After the presentation Stewart then gave thanks to: the Captains Club for hosting the event and providing us with Christmas drinks and snacks; to Wavelength for their great performance; to the Primrose Trust for their headline sponsorship of the whole of CLAC; and of course to Jan and the CLAC team for organising the 24 events.

After the thanks, Anita managed the raffle and the 4 large hamper prizes.  Stewart then reminded us we are now half way through the Calendar and all were encouraged to return for Day 13 tomorrow at The Kings Arms Pavilion.

Wavelength A’ Capella Choir

Wavelength A Cappella was formed in January 2016 by a group of friends who wanted to sing and perform together. A dynamic and energetic group, we aim to sing to the highest standard that we can achieve, while having fun and enjoying the company of
our musical friends.
We sing in three and four part harmony and our repertoire includes popular classics, songs from the shows, upbeat anthems and heartfelt ballads. Even a pirate or two! We are always looking for new singers to join our happy tribe.
