The arrival of the performer on this the 11th evening in Saxon Square did not disappoint!
When MC Rotary President Peter Boardman opened the window, the surprise act “The Bournemouth Carnival Band” marched into the square. In their usual colourful and vibrant style, playing xylophones, trumpets, drums and glockenspiels, they played a mixture of popular Christmas tunes and carols. With a great mix of musicianship and humour they performed a festive mix of tunes from Yellow Submarine to Sloop John B, Bring me Sunshine to Singing in the Rain.
A good range of raffle prizes was distributed and Peter Boardman thanked BCP, Saxon Square retailers along with Jan Banks and the Primrose Trust for their generosity. The Bournemouth Carnival Band ended with a rendition of ‘always look on the bright side of life’… a very appropriate reflection of their performance.
