Need to know more about the event?

This is the 4th year that Christchurch Rotary has organised the above event and to date we have raised £63000 for local charities. The Christchurch Living Advent Calendar is based on an original idea from Stockholm and began in the UK (Henley) in 2011. One of the first events of its kind in the south, and certainly the first locally, it will run every evening from December 1st to 24th. The event is opened by the Lord Mayor of Christchurch.

A ‘surprise’ performer gives a 40 minute Christmas-themed show at 6pm to the audience assembled at a given venue in Christchurch.

Each Venue is matched with a local performer or group and a collection is made, and Raffle tickets sold, every evening which goes to a selected local Charity.

The allocated sponsor presents the cheque to the charity and this in conjunction with the raffle sales represents the amount presented to the charity. The venues and performers give their services free of charge thus maximising the donations to the charities.

It is a collaborative project between the Christchurch Rotary, BCP, and Christchurch Town Council, bringing together nearly 100 local businesses and organisations to provide entertainment on each of the twenty four days leading up to Christmas.

The success of the Living Advent Calendar depends on the contributions made to it by all of those individuals, business and organisations involved, without their time, effort and financial support the event simply would not be possible.
