Promoting Your Event

 

The Christchurch Living Advent Calendar is a huge joint effort which brings together many local charities, performers, venues, organisations, businesses and residents in our community.

Social Media & Website

We will be using our Instagram and Facebook channels to promote the events in advance.

The website homepage shows the venue on each date – and there is a page for every event which shows the Performer, the Charity and the Sponsor. We encourage you to link to your own event’s ‘Page’ as you promote on your own socials.

How you can help us

  • Before December, want to make sure our website has the correct information about you. Please check out the information on your Evening’s event page in advance.
  • Email cress@seajar.com before 1 December if you spot anything important about your information that needs changing.

How to Promote Your Event

  • Please tell other people about this website: christchurchlivingadventcalendar.org.uk
  • Please like and follow our CLAC Instagram and Facebook – see links on the top of the website
  • When posting about your event, please use the hashtag #christchurchadvent2025, and share and tag us where you can
  • If you have great raffle prizes, you might want to mention these as well to tempt people to come on the evening
  • We will help to share your posts with our followers, if you want to let us know about something special you are doing, you can email us.

Charities, Sponsors, Venues or Performers – Mini Videos to post on our socials

If you are able – why not take a video to post on your own socials? Tell us about it before 1st December and we will aim to share it on our Facebook / Instagram.

This might be quite simple – just someone explaining:

  • Who you are/what you do
  • What night you are on and where
  • What any money raised will go towards
  • If you’ve been involved in CLAC in the past
  • How CLAC helps you – or things they enjoy about it!

Tips for doing a great video:

  • Film it with the back camera on your phone (you can get someone to film it for you)
  • Ensure you have good lighting (not a super yellow light and not a light right above your head! Natural light is best)
  • Keep it short – write a quick script and keep it to under 30 seconds if possible

Performers

This year will be announcing well in advance who is performing on each night.

For people who do not use social media, we have a News page on the website which will display the posts put onto our Facebook feed.  This will include photos and videos of the events after the performances.
