Tonight’s surprise performer:
Sounds Like Fun Choir
Day 5 of our Advent Calendar, raising money for Parkinson’s Disease, was held in Christchurch Library. We were made so welcome by the library team and volunteers. The venue was superb and they kindly provided refreshments, tea, coffee, mince pies and chocolate biscuits!
Jane Lewis and her fabulous choir “Sounds Like Fun” lived up to their name. The music was joyful, festive and fun with a rich variety of compositions from Joy to the World to a jazzy Jingle Bells.
The raffle prizes were kindly donated by Nusara Thai, Pizza Baracca and Stewart’s Garden Centre.
Watch the choir singing ‘Joy to the World’:
The cheque for £500 was presented to Jim Oates by Rotary President Peter Boardman.
The Christchurch Branch of Parkinson’s UK came into being over forty years ago. We meet on the 4th Monday of each month and provide a full social program throughout the year with a guest speaker, tea and cake and social interaction. We have an Outing, a Summer party, and a Christmas Lunch and 4 Holidays have been enjoyed. We also provide weekly Tai Chi classes whom our members say are very beneficial.
