Adam Coshan the Town Crier opened proceedings with a perfect welcome proclamation. This afternoon was the culmination of the Christchurch Living Advent Calendar. Despite a very blustery Saxon Square, a good number gathered.
MC Peter Boardman of Christchurch Rotary introduced the Mayor Vivian Charrett who congratulated everyone involved in the organisation of the Calendar. Rotarian Brian Clarke then gave a brief overview of way in which Christchurch Rotary helps local charities and groups with the money raised. With the help of today’s performers Christchurch Vintage Brass everyone, young and old, joined in to sing some well known Carols. Everyone also enjoyed some delicious chocolate cake generously provided by Lemon Garden.
Town Crier officially closing the 2023 Christchurch Living Advent Calendar event:
The Saxon Square audience join in with ‘A Partridge in a Pear Tree’
Town Mayor Vivian Charrett (and her beautiful dog Millie) then drew the raffle and the event concluded with a thank you to everyone involved in CLAC 2023 – Kelvin and Pippa Medley-Jones of the Primrose Trust the principal sponsors, Jan Banks the chief organiser and her team of Rotarians and partners.
Thanks to everyone who has attended events this year and helped raise money towards so many deserving charities. We hope to see you all next year for another Christchurch Living Advent Calendar.

Christchurch U3A Vintage Band
We are a brass band within Christchurch u3a. We play a variety of styles from traditional brass band classics to big band-style swing and we give performances throughout the year, often raising funds for local charities.
Our programme included familiar carols and popular Christmas songs and music, all especially arranged for brass.
