Oyez! Oyez! Day 24, Christmas Eve.

Adam Coshan the Town Crier opened proceedings with a perfect welcome proclamation. This afternoon was the culmination of the Christchurch Living Advent Calendar. Despite a very blustery Saxon Square, a good number gathered.

MC Peter Boardman of Christchurch Rotary introduced the Mayor Vivian Charrett who congratulated everyone involved in the organisation of the Calendar. Rotarian Brian Clarke then gave a brief overview of way in which Christchurch Rotary helps local charities and groups with the money raised.
With the help of today’s performers Christchurch Vintage Brass everyone, young and old, joined in to sing some well known Carols. Everyone also enjoyed some delicious chocolate cake generously provided by Lemon Garden.

Christchurch U3A Vintage Band

We are a brass band within Christchurch u3a. We play a variety of styles from traditional brass band classics to big band-style swing and we give performances throughout the year, often raising funds for local charities.

Our programme included familiar carols and popular Christmas songs and music, all especially arranged for brass.
