Tonight’s performance at Ye Olde George Inn
A late venue change to The George dictated by a dire weather forecast saw Blue Tides perform a fabulous blues/ska influenced set of seasonal songs for the latest Advent Calendar event.
An enthusiastic audience also had the benefit of a short introduction by the charity of the evening, The Friends of Red House Museum, who were presented with a cheque for £500 by Kelvin Medley-Jones, of The Primrose Trust who sponsored the evening.
Our special thanks to The George Inn who stepped in at the last moment and we look forward to welcoming everyone to The Conservative Club for tomorrow’s performance.
Tonight’s charity – all funds raised go to:
Friends of the Red House Museum
The Friends of the Red House Museum was established in 1951 by a group of people who wanted to play an active part in the life of their museum. We play a vital role in raising funds for The Red House Museum, to support the ongoing care of the museum’s historic gardens and the enrichment to people’s lives through access to the local heritage. Over the years interest in the Friends has grown and it has become a vibrant organisation. The Friends also play an essential part in the Red House Museum by volunteering to work in the garden and in other areas of the museum, such as documentation, transcribing and oral history recording.
