Saxon Square

Tonight’s performance in Saxon Square

The 8th Window of the Living Advent Calendar was opened in a surprising way when members of the choir, dispersed within the gathered audience in Saxon Square’s festive marquee, started to sing on cue, without accompaniment.

A beautiful & dynamic performance from Wavelength A Capella choir soon warmed up the rather chilly audience and there were appreciative whoops from the crowd after many numbers, which included the Hawaiian Christmas song Mele Kalikimaka as well as Carol of the Bells, Hark the Herald, & Silent Night.

Tonight’s evening was kindly sponsored by The Primrose Trust and Kelvin & Pippa Medley-Jones presented the cheque for £500 to Christchurch Cancer Research President Anne Caines.

Join us tomorrow night at The Red House Museum!

Tonight’s charity – all funds raised go to:

Christchurch Cancer Research

You can be confident that all money raised by Cancer Research UK will be spent wisely as 80p out of every £1 donated goes directly towards the life-saving work of preventing and curing all cancers.  The remaining 20p is reinvested in fundraising where we get back £4 for every £1 we spend.  With over 200 different types of cancer the research to find successful outcomes for people with cancer is vital.  Compared with 40 years ago, cancer survival rates have doubled, and our work has been at the heart of that progress.

For 2022 and 2023 Christchurch Fundraising Group have nominated our Regional Research Centre in Southampton to receive all money donated through our fundraising.
Your support is helping us raise lifesaving funds to beat cancer.  Thank you.

8th December’s surprise performers:

Wavelength (Acapella Choir)

Wavelength A Cappella was formed in January 2016 by a group of friends who wanted to sing and perform together. A dynamic and energetic group, we aim to sing to the highest standard that we can achieve, while having fun and enjoying the company of
our musical friends.
We sing in three and four part harmony and our repertoire includes popular classics, songs from the shows, upbeat anthems and heartfelt ballads. Even a pirate or two! We are always looking for new singers to join our happy tribe.
